Apr. 11 – Giovanni Allevi goes back to Japan three years after the trip to Osaka that inspired his Concerto for Violin and Orchestra contained in the latest album “Sunrise”. The artist will present both the album and a new tour: Allevi had to skip a previous tour in 2011 because of the tsunami, but his presence has been much anticipated overseas, where he had already performed successfully in 2008 and 2010. The very strong bond between the Allevi and Japan developed over the years, so as to bring the composer to invite Reiko Watanake on stage for the Italian dates in Ravenna (April 20) and Milan (April 21). Reiko, a virtuous Japanese violinist, grew up in the States and is acclaimed for her brilliant technique and expressiveness of execution, which led her to win, at the age of just 15, the Japan Music Competition award. The two Italian dates in Ravenna and Milan have thus earned the patronage of the Consulate General of Japan in Milan.
