Apr. 26 – Councilor Cristina Scaletti, representing the Tuscany region, recently received in Namur, Belgium, official recognition for the “Create Project” promoted by Tuscany Promotion and funded by the European Commission to increase the competitiveness of companies in the textile sector and regional fashion through the contribution of the creative industries and innovative. The ceremony was held at the Wallonia, European Creative District” conference dedicated to “the only other European region apart from Tuscany with their own innovation project.” The Region of Tuscany, in the light of its heritage of cultural and ‘practical knowledge’, is sensitive to the key role that the creative and cultural industries can play in terms of local development, – said councilor Scaletti – Creativity is one of the features through which the Tuscan ‘genius’ is best expressed. This creativity was historically made explicit in cultural production and manufacture. Indeed, during the Renaissance the two dimensions were often inextricably interconnected, representing the artists’ workshops or factories where there was culture through the creation of works of art and assets for common use. We strongly believe that the commitment of the Region of Tuscany on the topics of creativity and innovation, supported also by the contribution of new European policies on this issue, will contribute to a significant rejuvenation and increasing competitiveness of our economic system – continues the commissioner – The priority policy is to set in motion initiatives to stimulate cultural investments through the use of structural funds and to meet the need to promote projects of innovative firms in the various sectors of the diverse Tuscan manufacturing landscape.”
