May 8 – The Adler Group, engaged since the ’50s in the production of thermal and acoustic insulation materials for cars, acquired HP Pelzer Holding GmbH, the German holding company headquartered in Dusseldorf of 53 companies operating in the same sector – with customers such as Ford, GM, Volkswagen, Chrysler and Hyundai. The acquisition effectively means that Adler is the second largest operator in the world in automotive components. The transaction was completed thanks to the support of UniCredit Group, which provided a loan of €16 million for the acquisition (48%). The remaining 52% was already in the hands of Adler, that began buying into HP since 2009 and 2011, always with the support of UniCredit as well as Simest. The loan is divided into three different credit lines, two of which are guaranteed at 50% by Sace. Back in the Italian Unicredit also provided approximately €15.2 million for the acquisition of the first tranche of Hp Pelzer (49%). Today, “with this acquisition Adler, an Italian company, strengthens and grows on the European and international markets. We hope to be an example – says Paolo Scudieri, president of the Adler Group – for many companies tackling the challenge of internationalization. It is essential to make use of the tools and appropriate partners.”
