May 13 – The Italian coupé won the 4th edition of the El Economista (a Spanish business daily newspaper) competition. The award was presented to Luca Napolitano, CEO of Fiat Group Automobiles Spain, during the opening ceremony of the Barcelona Motor Show. With over 50% of votes, the Alfa Romeo “compact supercar” won over other competitors of great prestige thanks to online votes. Though the car is not yet on the market, this most recent award adds on to the impressive list of prizes it has already won: the “AutoBild Design” award (2011, Germany), “Design for Concept Cars & Prototypes” (2012, Italy) and the “Most Exciting Car of 2013” – What Car (2013, UK).
