May 17 – The import of construction machinery and marbles is on the rise as major infrastructure projects for three new tunnels under the Suez Canal begin. These imports, worth more than €550 million euro, are possible thanks to Egypt’s growing business opportunities for Italian companies in the sector. It is in this scenario that “MS Africa & Middle East, The International Trade Fair for Stone Design, Technology, Earthmoving and Building Machinery” (www.msafrica.net), warms its engines for its Cairo debut, expected for December 9-12. The event, organized by Veronafiere together with Art Line and Expolink, was presented to Osama Bahsa, sales manager of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Egypt, and Aly Abdel Kader, a representative of the Committee fairs Export Council for building, metallurgy and refractory industries. MS Africa & Middle East is a new fair that combines the experience of the Veronafiere brand, best known in the construction industry, and Marmomacc Samoter. The aim is to reinforce the internationalization of Italian firms and penetrate the neighboring markets of North Africa and the Near Middle East. A bridge between Italy and Egypt already exists, and it is pretty solid, “Do not forget – said Maurizio Massari, the Italian ambassador in Cairo – that our country is the second largest trading partner in Egypt, with an exchange of more than €4,5 billion.” “With this new exhibition – explains GianPaola Pedretti, International department manager of Veronafiere – we provide companies the organizational know-how of VeronaFiere, expressed via the successful outcomes of Marmomacc and Samoter, to which, from 2014, we will add to Asphaltica, dedicated to road infrastructure. Internationalization, now, is the key to development in the fields of marble and building the Veronafiere oversees in North Africa, the Middle East, the United States, Brazil and India.”
