June 5 – It’s good, it’s made with quality ingredients, and it’s healthy: Italian food never fails to impress even the most sophisticated foreign palates. The Ministry of Economic Development project “Authentically EATalian” was achieved in collaboration with Assocamerestero, the Southeastern Italian-American Chamber of Commerce, West-Los Angeles Italian-American Chamber of Commerce and Gambero Rosso. Together, they offered the best Italian dishes with a series of events dedicated to children, families and sports. The project will run until October, spreading the Italian food culture and demonstrating the great nutritional qualities of the Mediterranean diet. The cities selected are Miami and Los Angeles, where in April the elementary school Carver, the “Culinary Institute” chef academy and the marathon “Miami Corporate Run” participated. The events were targeted to an audience interested in the Italian way of life and health-conscious: families with children, cooking experts and sportsmen. All programs are connected to the “Let’s Move” project, carried out by First Lady Michelle Obama, to reduce the impact of diseases related to diabetes and obesity. “Authentically Eatalian”, on the occasion of Italian culture in the United States, will carry out other awareness campaigns similar to those carried out so far in Miami. One of the next events will take place in Los Angeles during the cycling event “CicLAvia” on October 6. In parallel, the actress and model Naike Rivelli participated in 10 mini-documentaries that will be distributed via the Gambero Rosso web tv to present the benefits of Italian quality products. Other events in Los Angeles will include seminars, meetings with journalists, collaborations with baseball athletes and NBA players like Mike Piazza, who will visit several schools to inform consumers on the best products and the best ways to eat.
