June 27 – July 1 – 4, a representation of Confimprese Tourism Italy led by President Giuseppe Sarnella will be in Riga for a number of institutional meetings with leading representatives of Latvian diplomacy and trade. There will also be representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Frosinone, Confapi and the Institute of Microcredit. The schedule includes meetings with Andris Endzins, president of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce, with diplomatic representatives, and Andris Ozols, director of the Latvian Investment and Development Agency. Also on the agenda there are meetings with prominent entrepreneurs. All events aim to increase and strengthen trade, tourism and diplomatic relations. “Latvia is a country that plays a strategic role in the development of European trade, as it is the gateway to the Russian markets. Its geographical position makes it a natural transit area between Western Europe and the Russian Federation; while the potential of the Baltic markets are still little known to Italy. Our mission intends to identify areas where we can develop business synergies” says Sarnella, president of Confimprese Tourism Italy and promoter of the mission. The joint venture between Confimpresa Tourism and the Baltic Republic began two years ago at the behest of Sarnella president himself, who also holds the position of Chairman of the Italy – Latvia Business Club. “In Latvia they observe with great interest the Italian market and the key employment opportunities it can provide – adds Sarnella – Also strong is the attraction for Italy as a tourist destination. The Italian brand is sought after, and Italian entrepreneurs enjoy the esteem of their colleagues because they are able to carry out ambitious projects even in the face of delays and difficulties caused by Italy’s characteristic cumbersome bureaucracy.”
