Sept. 4 – It’s called “Arts & Tannery,” and it’s now in its 17th edition. The ICE – Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian firms, in collaboration with the Italian leather system Consortium of Florence, is sponsoring the event that opens today in the heart of Manhattan. The two-day exhibition will also host a technical workshop devoted to the illustration of fashion trends related to four themes: Techo Couture, Flemish Flair, Wooden Mood and Armour Thrill. The open spaces have been specifically adapted to highlight the fine leather products. The autumn- winter 2014/2015 collections, duly selected by the exhibitors in a targeted manner for the U.S. market, will also be presented on the occasion. For this edition, ICE estimates a participation of about 300 American operators. The autonomous exhibition involves 13 Italian tanned leather manufacturers, whose products are used mainly in footwear, leather goods and clothing, and furniture – most of which come from Tuscany. “Arts & Tannery – says the event’s website – is an exclusive event that showcases the highest quality Italian leather products. It is a unique event, useful for those looking for the latest news on these materials. It is an essential reference for those designing shoes, bags and clothes.”
