Sept. 20 – Froz is a bboy – ie a breakdance dancer – who was awarded the coveted first prize at the Red Bull Bc One Western European Finals, the most important competition in the world of breakdancing “one on one” that ignited the stage of the historic Teatro Bellini in Naples last Saturday. Froz thus earned a place in the breakdance world final contest, held on November 30 in Seoul, South Korea: “The preparation for the World Final will start in a few days – says Froz , aka Gorskiy Roman, of Russian origin but Milan-native – I returned last Sunday from Naples, and I think I’ll start training again in a couple of days. I will follow the same tactics and strategy that I used for the Cypher and European competitions: I prepare the routine so as to enhance my resistance and endurance.” Last Saturday in Naples, sixteen of the best European bboy delighted the audience with their performances, style and techniques. But in the end it was Froz who earned one of the last available places for the 10th world final. The final round between Italy and Finland (Froz vs Focus) saw judges El Niñ , Venum and Chico unanimously hand the victory to Froz. Froz says his passion for breakdancing was born in 2001 “when I watched the ‘Freestyler’ music video by Bomfunk Mc’s, which brought an entire generation of kids closer to breakdance. This was my first encounter with what would become my greatest passion.” Froz, winner of two Cyphers (in 2012 and 2013), the victory in Naples was a well-deserved reward for all the years of training and dedication, “I achieved the dream that every bboy has: to represent their country at Red Bull BC One World Finals. I danced for 12 years and now my dream has come true.” Froz will represent Italy at the world finals: “I was born in the Soviet Union in ’85 and in ’93 I moved to Italy. I may be Russian, but I learned to dance in Italy, a country I represent with pride because I consider it my home.” The bboy has goals and aspirations: “at the international level, for now the most important project is to go to the Red Bull World Finals in Seoul. But in the future I would like to continue working for Red Bull, being a part of the new initiatives related to the world of breakdancing. As for possible projects at the national level, I’m already part of the Bandites crew, I’d like to collaborate with De Klan, winning crew of the Battle of the Year.” Froz is a great artist, an experienced man, still full of energy and eager to achieve his dreams: ” You have to chase your dreams and never give up. When you want to do something, at any level, whether you’re a beginner or a professional, it is important to remain focused, be true to your goals and objectives, and maintain your commitments.”
