Nov. 4 – Mirabilia is a project that manages a network of UNESCO sites through the Chambers of Commerce system and the territories to which they belong. Sponsored by nine Italian Chambers of Commerce, Mirabilia promotes and raises awareness for the Italian UNESCO World Heritage Sites that are least touched by international tourism flows. Mirabilia has already been presented in Rome, Moscow and at the Travel Trade Rimini and now it will be presented in London. The World Travel Market kicks off today and will close its doors on Thursday 7 October. Mirabilia will be on display in a booth in the “Europe-Mediterranean Area” Hall at the Excel Exhibition Centre. Wednesday at 11am, there will be a press conference to officially present the project, with speakers such as the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Matera, Angelo Tortorelli, and Andrea Santas, Director General of ENIT – Italy’s National Tourism Agency – which sponsored and supported the project. “The mission in London – said the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Matera – consolidates the project’s presentation and promotion path. Mirabilia promotes the places and resources of UNESCO World Heritage Sites and their surrounding areas. The WTM in London in this respect is an important showcase to attract visitors for the next season. And after London, the promotional tour will go to Matera for an important stage of the project. Matera is currently in seeking candidacy as 2019 European Capital of Culture, and on November 25-27, the Stock Exchange of Cultural Tourism will help promote package deals and itineraries, but also services, cities and territories that are part of the Mirabilia network.” In London, visitors and buyers from various countries will be able to discover the contents of the Mirabilia project and discover the beauties of “another Italy.”
