Nov. 6 – Research, innovation, development and technology are the key elements of the Piedmont system, which arrived in the Balkans thought a European Commission-funded project. The latter involved the Piedmont Consortium for Information Systems, FormezPA, the Department for Digitisation of the PA and Technological Innovation of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the State Department for Information Systems and the eGovernance Academy of Estonia. Together, they aimed at promoting the use of digital public services in Montenegro and the development of an information society. Different “made in Piedmont ” abilities and professionalism worked for a year alongside fellow Montenegrin ministries to promote the development of the technological infrastructure in Montenegro, set standards for e-government services, and spread local awareness of the importance of digital services. This helps support the integration process of Montenegro in the European Union, but the work does not end here: in recent days, a Montenegrin delegation traveled to Turin to meet the regional Research and Innovation Councilor, Agostino Ghiglia, and learn about other projects that the Region and the local administrations carry out with CIS Piemonte. The Piedmont Consortium for Information Systems has coordinated all activities: starting from an analysis of Montenegro’s e-government, it defined the architecture of the platform providing digital services to institutions, citizens and businesses, all in accordance with European standards. It also organized training activities for ministries and local Public Administration staff.
