Nov. 26 – Travel in all comfort in the car without driver. Researchers at the Laboratory of Computer Vision and Intelligent Systems at the University of Parma (Vislab) presented in Kolding Denmark, Braive. The prototype vehicle gave a demonstration of autonomous driving during Kortdage 2013, a conference sponsored by the Danish Geoforum and sponsored by the National Department of Transport. With great media coverage, and aerial drones and helicopters covering the demonstration, Braive drove automatically in an urban environment, starting from the castle of Kolding up to the conference venue. Nikolaj Sonne was on board; the Danish scientific writer and presenter of a TV show wanted to personally experience the innovative technology. During the conference, Braive’s features were presented to the Danish Tvs, which broadcasted live the entire event. The on road demonstration was another important moment for the dissemination of research conducted by Parma’s Vislab, affirming the international relevance of their current research.
