Dec. 17 – Paolo Aradisi and Giuseppe Provezzano, students at the University of Pisa, will represent Italy at the World Challenge Bowl, the largest quiz challenge dedicated entirely to geo-physics students from all over the world. Organized by the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, the festival will take place in Denver in Oct. 2014, at the same time as the organization’s international meeting. The results so far are cause for celebration for the University and its two master students in exploratory and applied geo-physics within the Physics Department. The two students passed the Italian selection tests held in Trieste during the National Group for Geophysics’s meeting. This year, six different teams participated: two from Pisa, one from Trieste, one from Naples and one from Turin. “After the elimination round against Trieste and Naples, we won against Turin – said the two students – we were fast and we strategized: these are our best features.”
