Jan. 2 – Roberto Cavalli sets fashion trends, even in the culinary arts. The Italian designer just opened his seventh ‘restaurant & lounge’ in Miami, Florida; and for next year he is preparing for the opening of other locations in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Bahrain , Beijing and Toronto. The restaurant, which opened on December 27 in 150 Ocean Drive, in the middle of Miami Beach, is a two-story building (one for cocktail parties and DJ sets) in art deco style. “Hospitality has always been part of my life along with the tradition of eating out – says Roberto Cavalli – Miami used to be a wild city, now it’s so warm and alive that it was impossible for me to refuse the offer to bring Italian fashion, food and design together.”
