Jan. 6 – Italian companies are at the forefront of the development of motorways in Transylvania. In particular, the Salini Impregilo Group, thanks to its experience and twenty years of presence in Romania, is designing and constructing part of the Sebes – Turda motorway, in Transylvania. The job was assigned by the national motorways and highways company of Romania, while the value of the project is approximately €121 million. The Sebes – Turda highway crosses the provinces Cluj and Alba, and allows for a fast and secure connection between the Arad – Sibiu motorway (for the Pan-European corridor IV) and the Bucharest – Brasov – Bors motorway. The “Sebes – Turda Lot.1” works will consist of 17 kilometers of motorway with two lanes in each direction and an emergency lane; they include about 81.000 square meters of bridges and viaducts over three highways.
