Jan. 9 – Spain, Portugal, Finland, Bulgaria, Hungary, the United States, Latin America and Australia are countries “irradiated” by the reassuring smile of Don Matteo, the character born back in 2000 played by Terence Hill who has become one of the classics of Italian television. And his smile will promote the image of the region in which his adventures are set, Umbria. The method works: just recall the peak of trust for the State Forestry Corps after Terence Hill began interpreting the role of Pietro in “Un passo dal cielo.” And the Umbria Region hopes to benefit from the same positive influence thanks to Don Matteo: “Our hope is that the love viewers hold for ‘Don Matteo’ will help grow the love for Umbria,” said the president of the region, Catiuscia Marini, during the press conference to present the new “Don Matteo” season, which will begin airing tonight on RAI 1. Marini underscored that “Don Matteo” has been and is a high-impact promotional vehicle for the region.
