Feb. 25 – Sace’s particular regard for Turkey continues to grow, as the Italian insurance and financial group opens Eataly’s doors to Turkish banks and businesses. The aim is to celebrate the successful cooperation between the two countries, strengthen the business potential in this strategic market for Italy, and support Italian exports in Turkey. In front of over 200 representatives from the Turkish business and financial world, Sace announced the beginning of new operations in Turkey worth €1 billion overall. Among those currently under study, there are finance projects in both the public and private sectors, loans and leasing to banks, and an increasing number of transactions for export credit in favor of SMEs. Supplier credit for small companies constituted the largest share of dealings in 2013, a year in which Sace approved about €700 million worth of transactions. Thanks to the Turkish spirit of initiative in international markets, in recent years there have been increasingly frequent collaborations with Italian contractors. And today, Sace’s office in Istanbul is evaluating new projects in third countries, such as Iraq and its Autonomous Province of Kurdistan. In Turkey, Sace has collaboration agreements with Ispat, the inward investment agency that reports directly to the Turkish prime minister, and the newly established Turk Eximbank.
