Mar. 10 – The world is asking for more “Great Beauty” and not only because of Sorrentino’s triumph at the Oscars, but also for the provider of beauty in the movie: Rome. “Rome: 100 unike Opplevelser” is just one among the guides recently revisited addressed to the Norwegian public, hungry to know the city’s secrets. Anders Hornslien, a Norwegian PM who is Roman by adoption and knows the Italian capital extremely well, edited the guide, published by Kagge. The work will be presented on March 13 during a “Roman evening” at the Italian Cultural Institute in Oslo, during which the film critic Brita Moystad Engseth will review films about or filmed in Rome. In the guidebook, there is a chapter written by the Italian ambassador in Oslo, Giorgio Novello, dedicated to the Norwegian presence in Rome, entitled “Et lite stykke Norge” (“a little piece of Norway”). The diplomat invited to visit the altar dedicated to St. Olav, the “Rex perpetuus Norvegiae,” located in the church of San Carlo al Corso, and the museum/house of the sculptor and visionary Bergen Hendrik Christian Andersen in the Flaminio district. The guidebook directs visitors to discover Rome’s beauty, so that they don’t come to the same conclusions as The Great Beauty’s main character, Jep Gambardella (Toni Servillo), who was looking for a great beauty, but didn’t find it.
