Mar. 18 – Born in Agrigento in 1972, but living in Berlin, Rosa Barba is an independent artist who has worked for years in the German capital and has exhibited in major museums around the world. And now one of her works, “Time as a Perspective,” created in 2012, will also be presented in Australia, at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, during the Biennale, which will be held from March 21 to June 9. The piece of art is rather peculiar, it’s a 35 mm film in which, in a loop, slide images of huge rigs in action filmed in the Texas desert. The installation also includes the projector, deliberately placed within the exhibition space. Each element of the work emphasizes the passage of time: the show’s location, the endless repetition of images – often scratched or damaged – and the giant machines’ movements.
