Mar. 31 – Their name is Retrospective For Love, they were born in London, but they are all Italian: Davide Sciortino, Alessandro La Barbera and Gabriele Scalici joined forces with Leslie Phillips, Agostino Collura, Giacomo Braghi and Hanno Rigger. Together, they formed a truly international band. On April 1, their new album will be released, the eponymous “Retrospective For Love,” which contains four tracks: “Kill me”, “Leave me alone”, “Read into you”, and ” Breathe”. The self produced EP was mastered by sound engineer Noel Summerville, who has worked with the likes of the White Stripes, The Clash and Sinead O’Connor. The band’s dreamy atmospheres are opposed to a strong and insistent groove, which ranges from hip-hop and soul to dub / reggae. The album is “a retrospective told to enjoy the journey in the present – says the singer of the group, Davide Sciortino – the EP tells a story about love rather than a love story, transposing into words the most profound experiences of those who wrote them. It creates a circle: from the end of a bad relationship to the frustration, and the happiness of finding oneself in the right person.”
