Apr. 4 – Lombardy Export Trade – Let ’14 is a project aimed at Varese companies seeking business opportunities abroad. The initiative was created by the Chamber of Commerce of Varese and it offers free specialist support on the internationalization front. This year, the event will offer 20 manufacturing (micro, small and medium) enterprises of the province the opportunity to seriously engage with foreign markets. “The essential requirement – said in a statement Chamber of Commerce – is that these have not yet generated an exports share above 5% of their total revenues.” During 2014, the participating companies will be guaranteed a check-up to highlight their position in relation to key export issues. Then, the companies’ human, technical, financial and production resources will be assessed in cross-reference with their marketing skills. At this point, LET will define the companies’ potential for internationalization. Of the companies that pass this stage, six will be offered a development plan to operate successfully in the global market: identification of suitable products and choice of access channels to new markets, a price analysis on foreign markets, and communication activities. Each selected company will welcome, from June to October, a temporary export manager in its headquarters that will detail the most appropriate methodologies and approaches to overcome barriers to exports.
