May 26 – Friuli’s excellences are on tour in Austria. “Austria is a point of reference for the promotion of tourism in our region. Austrian visitors seem to appreciate us, and are among the first in foreign tourist arrivals (31.5%).” The Chamber of Commerce of Udine in recent days promoted in Vienna Friuli’s cultural, gastronomic and tourist excellences. And to reinforce the friendly relations and economic ties with Austria and to further promote cultural tourism in Friuli for the summer season, the Chamber of Commerce – in collaboration with the Italian system in Vienna – organized a business meeting for a group of agro-food companies. The event was attended by the Ambassador of Italy, Giorgio Marrapodi, and included a musical event at the Italian Cultural Institute in Vienna, where Luisa Sello’s flute became a Friuli symbol worldwide. The event became the perfect occasion to present Udine’s summer programs with Paola Schneider, a member of the CoC, and Federico Pirone, Cultural Councilor. Pirone illustrated the great cultural events that continue to enliven Friuli’s cultural and historical capital, such as the Far East Film Festival and Udine Jazz. Pirone also had the opportunity to introduce the “Festival Udine Castello”, while Schneider reported the full calendar of events set up by the Chambers of Commerce of Udine in Vienna. Finally, thanks to a collaboration with the Consortium Fvg Via dei Sapori, a taste of culinary excellence was offered to the guests attending the event.
