June 27 – On July 1, the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union begins: to celebrate this, the Italian Cultural Institute of Tirana, the Italian Embassy in Albania, the Idea Foundation, the Fiesole School of Music, with the support of Ministry of Culture and the Albanian Theatre of Opera and Ballet in Tirana, are hosting a concert. The event brings together for a second time in Albania young Albanian and Italian musicians of the respective Youth Orchestras, under the direction of Maestro Guido Corti. Pellumb Vorpsi and Arbër Neziri are artistic directors for a program that includes: Rossini’s “L’Italiana in Algeri” Overture; Haydn’s Symphony no. 104 in D major (London); Bartok, Romanian Dances; and Brahms, Hungarian Dances 1,4,5. The concert will begin at 8pm at the Theatre of Opera and Ballet.
