June 27 – Mozambique, South Africa, Angola and Tanzania are the countries that fall in the definition of “Sub-Saharan Africa” as regards the internationalization project for SMEs promoted by the Italian Umbria, Lazio and Marche Regions. This interregional project, sponsored by the Ministry of Economic Development, and developed in collaboration with the ICE Agency, sees Umbria as project leader via its Centro Estero Umbria as project supervisor. The areas of interest include renewable energy, sustainable construction, technology, agriculture and the agro-industry. The steps of the project for 2014 include a series of: workshops in Italy to present the results of market surveys; road-shows in each of the participating regions aimed at potentially interested businesses; missions with Italian entrepreneurs in Africa; and brief introductory courses for African operators to learn more about the Italian system and its companies, universities, research centers, agencies and institutions.
