July 11 – The magic of places and monuments included in the UNESCO World Heritage list all in one network born in Matera and that now involves other Italian cities and Chambers of Commerce: the appeal of the Mirabilia project is strong in Italy and abroad. France is the first foreign country to open its doors to the all-Italian network to have aroused interest even beyond Italian borders. The network has spread into France, bringing together the World Heritage sites and enhancing them by highlighting their historical, cultural, artistic, and environmental factors. In particular, Albi – the capital of the French department of the Tarn, in the region of Midi-Pyrenees – has joined Mirabilia thanks to a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie du Tarn and the Chamber of Commerce of Matera. The Mirabilia network already includes the Chambers of Brindisi, Genoa, La Spezia, Messina, Padua, Perugia, Salerno, Udine and Vicenza. “The Mirabilia project – said the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Matera, Angelo Tortorelli – continues to build its network, taking on a European and Mediterranean dimension, as recently happened with the Corfu Forum of the Adriatic region. The protocol will have a positive impact on the city’s network, the chamber system and the participating territories.” Albi joins Toledo, Segovia and Avila in Spain, Sofia in Bulgaria, Argolid in Greece, Mardin in Turkey and Brno in the Czech Republic. The agreement is designed to enable a network to enhance the overall image of the sites in an a territorial marketing perspective.
