July 15 – It builds on the success of the conference on the aerospace industry “Space4You” (held in Bari on Feb. 27-28 2014), which saw Puglia at the center of the international debate on space, and on Nichi Vendola’s newly appointed role as President of Nereus (the Network of European Regions using space technologies), confirmed during the Toulouse Air show (June 30 and July 1). Puglia will again participate in the debate on space technologies in London during the “Farnborough International Airshow,” which will run until July 20. Farnborough is the leading trade fair in the sector: the latest edition was a great success in terms of exhibitors and visitors, with the participation of over 1,500 exhibitors and 107,000 industry professionals, 70 military delegations from 46 countries and 13 civil delegations from 10 countries. “For Puglia – reads a note from the Regional Office – Farnborough is a great opportunity. The festival is mainly dedicated to operators in the sectors of aeronautics, space, defense and security; but it also offers interesting insights for those active in the field of aircraft, satellites, satellite telecommunications, air and land armaments, and systems and equipment for airports construction and assembly; mechanical subcontracting, metallurgy, composite materials, and maintenance services.” The Puglia Region, in conjunction with its aerospace manufacturing district, its aerospace technology district and Airports of Puglia, will host, in its exhibition area, a delegation of 10 local businesses. These will be supported and guided in the research and development of new opportunities for international collaborations.
