July 16 – After his huge success in Japan – a country that welcomed him several times with great enthusiasm – Giovanni Allevi is in Italy for the summer gigs of his “Piano Solo World Tour 2014,” which will continue in October in South America. The pianist, composer and conductor from le Marche has reached global fame, also thanks to news coming from Australia. Allevi’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in F minor, “La Danca della Strega”, from the album “Sunrise” (Bizart / Sony 2012), will be soundtrack of the contemporary ballet “The Red shoes” by the Expressions Dance Company (EDC). The ballet will debut in Australia on July 18, at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre in Brisbane. “I found the violin concerto by Giovanni Allevi very addictive and original, and I really wanted to use it for the project,” said the artistic director and choreographer of the company, Natalie Weir. “It’s an honor for our orchestra to perform a piece so beautifully written live for the ballet. It ‘s great.” Meanwhile, Allevi has just concluded the Japanese leg of his world tour and is now preparing for the Italian part, which kicks off tonight in Grado (Gorizia) and will end in Zafferana (Catania) on August 12. In between, he will perform in Fiesole (July 22), Vulci (August 4) and Porto Rotondo (August 6). Then in October it’ll be Allevi’s first time in Argentina, where fans have been waiting for him for some time. The already confirmed dates are in Buenos Aires (October 25, Theater Coliseo), Cordoba Argentina (October 14, Theatre “Libertador San Martin”), and Bahia Blanca (October 19, Teatro Municipal de Bahia Blanca).
