Brussels – ENEA plays a leading role in the European project Eden (End – User Driven Demo for CBRNE), launched last September to find innovative solutions that reduce the social cost associated with chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear explosives. Funded with € 36.5 million by the European Commission under the Seventh Framework Programme on Security, the project brings together a consortium of 36 participants, including ENEA, from 15 countries, coordinated by BAE Systems. The consortium includes end users – who are the main stakeholders – large companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, universities and research institutes. During recent meetings in Brussels, Bucharest and Vienna, the project partners defined the strategy to fill the gap between the needs of the end users and available technology. They also collected information in order to develop various scenarios, which will be presented in Brussels on July 22. (9Colonne)
