Khartoum – The Italian Ambassador in Khartoum, Armando Barucco, and the Minister of Health of Sudan, Bahar Idriss Abu Garda, have signed the Country Health Compact for Sudan, a document that sets out the cooperation modalities between the Federal Ministry of Health and international partners involved in the health sector. The agreement details the principles of the Busan Partnership Agreement of 2011. Among the key points there are: the respect of the basic guidelines set out in the National Strategic Plan; the gradual and progressive engagement of Sudanese operators in the sector; the harmonisation of cooperation strategies; and continuous consultation and transparency in relations between Italy and the Sudanese government.
