Malaga – The Durand de La Penne is currently engaged in the 2014 Education Campaign of with the first class students of the Naval Academy of Livorno. After the London leg, the ship is now in the Mediterranean Sea, specifically in Malaga, its last stop before returning Taranto. While navigating towards the Spanish city, the destroyer participated in a bilateral exercise with the Spanish corvette Vigia. The exercise saw the Vigia team board the Durand de La Penne to inspect the documents of a merchant ship. The close cinematic maneuvers, take-off and the landing of the AB212 helicopter on the flight deck of the Spanish ship were accompanied by communications exercises. (9Colonne)
