Salzburg – After December’s success at the Teatro Real in Madrid for his production of ‘Elisir d’amore,’ set on a modern beach, Damiano Michieletto is ready for a new international event. At the Salzburg Summer Festival, which runs until August 31, the Italian director will bring his new production of Rossini’s La Cenerentola, starring Cecilia Bartoli. The Venetian director set the scene at a present day self-service where Angelina (Cinderella) works from five in the morning until midnight under the oppression of her stepsisters. Michieletto’s next projects include an exhibition in Amsterdam on “Il Viaggio a Reims,” and him touring with the William Tell in London, Vienna, Berlin and New York. (9Colonne)
