(4 sets) Le Marche and China are cooperating in the name of university research in the renewable energy and environment field. A paper by Francesca Spigarelli of the University of Macerata, entitled “Going green: the Chinese OFDI in the European renewable energy sector,” received the 2014 Emerald Best Paper Award. Spigarelli is director of the China Center at the University of Macerata. The award was assigned by Ping Lv of the School of Management at the Chinese Sciences Academy. The paper was selected among the scientific contributions presented during the international conference “China Goes Global,” organized by the Chinese Globalization Association and held recently in Shanghai at JaoTong University. The paper synthesizes the research conducted by Professor Spigarelli within the Seventh Framework Programme of the European project “Poreen: partnership opportunities between Europe and China in renewable energy and environment-related industries.” The project aims to integrate and combine the economics, law and engineering aspects that appear to be complementary so as to better analyze the level of cooperation reached so far between the two regions. “This result gives us great satisfaction – says University of Macerata Dean Luigi Lacchè – because it rewards the work done by prof. Spigarelli and our University in the field of academic, economic and social relations with China. The University of Macerata, thanks to its Confucius Institute and the China Center, is an important bridge to China, to the benefit of our businesses and our graduates.”
