Washington – More than €2.8 million are being invested in the worldwide promotion of 16 Marche wines, including Rosso Conero, Verdicchio, Lacrima di Morro d’Alba, and Vernaccia di Serrapetrona. The Istituto Marchigiano di Tutela Vini (IMT) has kicked off the 2014-2015 promotional campaign aimed at non-EU countries thanks to funds provided by OCM Promozione Vino. The “Marche top wines” project was created by a large consortium of 800 members, who account for 90% of total Marche wine exports. The project will kick off on October 16 and it will include participation in international trade fairs, marketing expertise, in-store promotion, workshops and wine tastings, and targeted action in key countries. Among the target markets, there are the United States, which absorb 35% of the budget; followed by China and Hong Kong, Canada, Japan, South East Asia (Singapore, South Korea, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines), South America, Norway and Switzerland.
