Sept. 18 – The Department Department of Land and Agro-Forestry Systems of the University of Padua is participating in the EU-funded “GeoSEE” project, which aims to demonstrate the potential innovative use of sustainable low temperature geothermal sources integrated with other renewables for the production of electricity. On September 22-23, the project partners will meet in Krievci and Koprivnica, in Croatia, for the final meeting. The aim of the meeting is to update the different members on the last phases’ progress and coordination. The project completed construction of WebGis, which maps low-enthalpy geothermal springs in South-East Europe. The page will be soon available on the official GeoSEE website. The project also gave way to an analysis of the environmental benefits produced by the use of geothermal energy by using real case studies, and the partners also produced a study for optimal market penetration strategies by developing a common methodology. The final results of the project will be announced at the end GeoSEE meeting.
