Brussels – A few days ago, the EU released the results of the first calls open to European cultural institutions for the 2014-2020 Culture Programme, “Creative Europe”. In the large-scale cooperation projects category, the European Commission decided to fund 21 projects. One of them is “Be SpectACTive!” sponsored by the Kilowatt Festival and the City of Sansepolcro, in Tuscany. The project involves 12 European institutions representing 9 countries. Kilowatt and the City of Sansepolcro will coordinate this diverse network and together they will develop the concept of “active spectatorship.” The project aims at increasing the active involvement of the audience during theater and art shows. “Be SpectACTive!” is the wider version of the widely successful Visionari project that had already been tested during the Festival of Sansepolcro.
