Sept. 23 – This week, Tirana is the “capital” of human rights thanks to the International Human Rights Film Festival, which takes place until September 28. This 9th edition aims, in particular, to raise public awareness on the issues of Albanian human rights in the digital age. And for the fourth consecutive year, the Italian Institute of Culture in Tirana is working with the festival organizers to support the participation of Italian works in the event. On Friday, September 26 at 7pm, the Cultural Institute Hall in the Palace of Culture will host the “Italy rediscovers Albania – Italy rizbulon Shqiperine” exhibition. The event is part of the project “Albania – Italy: two sides of the same sea,” sponsored by Moxa Modena with the contribution of the Emilia Romagna Region and the Italian Institute of Culture. “The exhibition will be composed of 11 panels – said the statement presentation of the IIC – it will give the visitor, via emblematic images, a glimpse into the life of different generations. This brings to light the bridge between the two sides of the same sea, sometimes engaged in dramatic conflict, sometimes extremely generous to one another.” The exhibition came about thanks to the continuous collaboration and cooperation between the Italian Institute of Culture in Tirana and the Marubi and Moxa Academy in Modena, already partner of a similar operation last year. The displayed elements come from different archives, including the Marubi Photo Library, the National Archive in Tirana, the Albanian School of photography, and private archives. (Red)
