Barcelona – Csilla Krausz, Associate Professor of Endocrinology within the “Mario Serio” Department of Biomedical, Experimental and Clinical Sciences, was elected president of the European Academy of Andrology (EAA). Krausz is the first woman to hold the post; and was unanimously elected during the VIII European Congress of Andrology held recently in Barcelona for the 2014-2018 period. The EAA was founded in 1992 with the aim of ensuring Europe-wide continuous improvement of scientific and clinical standards in the field of andrology, a relatively young discipline that concerns itself with issues steadily rising in the male population. The EAA has 23 training centers in Europe and the United States; is responsible for the dissemination of andrology research; it organizes conferences and training courses; and it publishes the magazine “Andrology.” (9Colonne)
