Nov. 12 – A healthy eating habit and lifestyle are priorities for the prevention of many diseases, especially eating disorders. The issue is of great relevance in view of Expo 2015, which revolves around the theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.” On November 19, at 9.30 am, the Italian Cultural Institute in Valletta is hosting a conference that aims to study food-related issues, in anticipation of the Milan Expo. The event, which will be inaugurated by the Italian Ambassador, Giovanni Umberto De Vito, and the former EU Commissioner for Malta, Tonio Borg, is an opportunity to shed light on the Italo-Maltese cooperation program that led to the establishment of the Center for Bbesity and Eating Disorders Treatment of Dar Kenn Ghal Sahhtek in Mtarfa, modeled on similar facilities in Todi and Città della Pieve, in Umbria. The conference, sponsored by the Maltese Ministry of Energy and Health, by the Italian Ministry of Health, the Italian Embassy and the Umbria Region, will be concluded by a speech by Professor John Mamo, commissioner of the Malta pavilion for Expo 2015.
