Nov. 19 – Italian wineries are increasingly popular abroad, where they are rewarded and valued. So why shouldn’t Italians learn about their most beloved wines abroad? The Italian Farmers Confederation, one of the partners of the event, announced that the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, a historical annual competition, offers a solution. The Concours will parade the winners across Italy: after the 320 member jury has handed out the awards, the tour will kick off on Nov. 29. The tour will visit: Livorno (November 29), Palermo (January 9), Treviso (17 January), Ortona (January 22), Bari (January 28) and Turin (January 30). The tour was oganized in collaboration with Fisar and the University of Udine and, for some stages, with ONAV (Puglia) and AIS (Sicily). Created in 1994, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is now considered the world championship of the wine and spirits industry, with more than 8,000 wines and spirits from around the world competing for the title. The jury represents around 40 nationalities and is composed exclusively of industry professionals. After celebrating its 20th anniversary in Brussels, the 21st edition will be hosted in Jesolo, Italy.
