Dec. 3 – The University of Parma is increasingly international, carrying out high level research. This time, international scholars and experts are studying the results of a study in the field of pharmacology currently in the hands of a research group from the Department of Pharmacy of Parma University – coordinated by prof. Alessio Loyola, Massimiliano Tognolini PhD and Matteo Incerti PhD. The research was published on the international journal “British Journal of Pharmacology.” The group (which includes pharmacologists from Prof. Elisabetta Barocelli’s pharmaceutical laboratory and from Prof. Marco Mor’s chemical laboratory) has worked for years on ligands for the ephrin system. The study, funded also by the Italian Association for Cancer Research and the Ministry of Education, University and Research, led to the discovery of a molecule that could become an important pharmacological tool for the scientific community.
