(Nov. 29th) – The University of Parma gains a new award. A study coordinated by Ilaria Zanotti, from the Laboratory of Cellular Pharmacology, directed by Franco Bernini, has obtained a major funding by the European Foundation for Alcohol Research. The research aims to evaluate the effect of different doses of alcohol intake on lipid metabolism and the risk of developing cardiovascular disease. This important recognition has an international flavour, since the ERAB is a European authority, based in Louvain-la-Neuve, in Belgium, which has as the goal to promote biomedical and psychosocial research to study the impact of alcohol on health . “This result is particularly flattering – states the University – considering it comes after a selection of seven on 56 projects at European level proposed to the Foundation”.
