Dec. 3 – Strengthen existing agreements, start new high level scientific collaborations, promote the mobility of professors, implement research and cooperation projects, and encourage cultural exchanges: these are the objectives of the University of Macerata in their agreement with the best Chinese universities. A delegation of representatives from the Higher Education system of Hebei (one of the main provinces in China, near Beijing, with a population of 70 million people), led by Education Vice Councilor Guo Shuliang, was in Macerata yesterday to meet with Dean Luigi Lacchè, the delegate to International Affairs Uoldelul Chelati Dirar, and the directors of the Confucius Institute Giorgio Trentin and Yan Chunyou. Delegation members included the most important universities in the Hebei province, some of which already have agreements with the University of Macerata for the exchange of teachers and students. “This is an important confirmation of the role played by the University of Macerata in the field of academic, economic and social relations with China – said Lacchè – the Università of Macerata represents, thanks to the Confucius Institute and the China Center, an important bridge between Italy and China, to the benefit of our students and graduates, as well as our businesses.” On Friday, Lacchè, Trentin and Yan will travel to China to attend the 9th International Conference of Confucius Institutes. “It will be an opportunity to meet with the Director-General Xu Lin and discuss new projects, including one for the recovery of Villa Lauri,” said the Dean.
