Washington – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Gentiloni delivered to Secretary of State Kerry – at a meeting in Washington – a reminder on the Enrico “Chico” Forti case, a man arrested in Florida in February 1998 and sentenced to life imprisonment for murder, who always proclaimed his innocence and requested and obtained the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The consular visits to Forti have been numerous over the years, as well as contacts with the US authorities at all levels. In the memo delivered by Minister Gentiloni to Kerry, the Italian government requested the support of the relevant US authorities before the possible revision of the process. (9Colonne)
