Baku – “Puglia, you are welcome… Destination Baku” is the new project to support the Salento territory and its products, promoted by the Chamber of Commerce of Lecce. The initiative is open to Puglia’s food companies, agribusiness and manufacturing who want to assess the economic possibilities offered by a key emerging market: Azerbaijan. The objective of the project is to promote the internationalization processes of Puglia in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is one of the emerging economies, and its capital, Baku, will host in 2015 a series of international cultural and sports events, including the first edition of the European Olympic Games. The idea of organizing a trade mission to Azerbaijan is the result of economic evaluations studying the business potential of Puglia companies compared in terms of impact during sporting events as well as the trade volume between Italy and Azerbaijan.
