Dec. 29 – “When the factories close, an era comes to an end, and all the certainties you had as a child fade away… the only thing left for you is to boldly explore, try alternative routes, imagine something that still hasn’t been invented.” These are the wise words of Silvia Avallone, a young Italian writer whose fame crossed our national borders and now stars in Oslo’s” Sea Change.” Sea Change is a documentary-photography project on display at the House of Literature from January 12 to February 1, which will be inaugurated by four days of lectures, debates and conversations on “The New Europe”. “The future is the dirt track that you didn’t expect” is the title of the conference starring Avallone, scheduled for January 12 at 6pm at the House of Literature, in the Wergeland Hall. The conference will be in Italian with simultaneous translation in English. On the following day, Avallone will monitor the debate “A generation in crisis” (same place, same time), with colleagues Undine Zimmer and Kajsa Ekis Ekman. Both events are organized in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in Oslo. (Red)
