Jan. 6 – Eni, based in San Donato Milanese, started production in the Congolese offshore field of Nene Marine, located in Block Marine XII (about 17 kilometers from the coast), just eight months after obtaining the production permit and 16 months after the first discovery. This marks another important success for Eni in Congo, which a few days ago saw good results come in from the test pit of Minsala Marine 1, also located in Block Marine XII. The complete development of the field will take place in several stages, involving the installation of production platforms and the drilling of over 30 wells. The plateau is fixed at over 140,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. According to CEO Claudio Descalzi “the start of production in the Marine Nene field so soon after obtaining the production permit is a great result for Eni, and it confirms our rapid resources exploration and exploitation strategy, thanks to the technical and design capabilities of the company and the integration of exploratory, operational and development efficiency.” (Sis)
