Oct. 9 – ENI will sell gas with its own brand to French retail customers, so as to become one of the major operators in the sector. A note from the company explains, “our experience and know-how in gas commercialization will allow us to compete against the historical French suppliers, and offer consumers a valid alternative.” In France, ENI already operates in the retail market via the Altergaz brand, selling gas through its own brand to industrial and wholesale clients. Since October 1, ENI has increased its direct presence in France by grouping all its retail selling under the same brand name. The goal is to reach 500 thousand residential clients, thus triplicating the current customer portfolio. ENI, present in the French gas market since 2003 thanks to a partnership with an industrial client, is, since 2011, the second gas provider in the country, for a total of 7.1 billion cube meters of sold gas – circa 14% of total sales.
