Colombo – Alitalia accompanied His Holiness Pope Francis on his Apostolic journey to Sri Lanka and Philippines which will start today. The flight operated by an Alitalia A330 Airbus aircraft named “Giotto” landed at Colombo International airport at 9.00 hours on January 13. Alitalia is privileged to be the airline chosen by the Holy See for the Apostolic travels of His Holiness abroad and to put at the service of the papal delegation its reliability and the quality of its services. The collaboration between Alitalia and the Holy See began 50 years ago with the historic journey to the Holy Land by Paul VI in 1964. (9colonne)
