Brussels – The University of Parma won the Call for Proposals on “Scientific substantiation of health claims made on food: collection, collation and critical analysis of information in relation to claimed effects, outcome variables and methods of measurement.” The call, issued by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), approved the two-year research project with a loan of €213,000. The goal is to provide EFSA with a comprehensive collection of scientific literature, to comment it on the basis of the assessment of specific beneficial effects attributed to certain foods, the so-called Health Claims.
