Jan. 23 – They bring Campania to the UK in the name of Italian tradition and style, to grow and establish themselves across the Channel. The Neapolitan company Laminazione Sottile SpA received the Industrial Investment Award, now in its eighth edition. The recognition is awarded by the British Government to Italian companies that choose the UK to develop their international business strategy. In particular, Laminazione Sottile received the prize for the construction in Telford (a new town in the county of Shropshir) of a modern and efficient production plant for food aluminum packaging. Established in 1923, Laminazione Sottile is the parent company of the Group Laminazione Sottile, which specializes in making rolled aluminum products. After years focused on production of capsules and tubes for toothpaste, the Neapolitan company initiated a vertical integration process, introducing aluminum rolling in its production activities. During the 1960s, the finished product production was interrupted and the entire production process was redirected towards aluminum rolling. Since then the company – as stated on the website – has continued to invest in human resources, equipment and technology to improve performance. The CEO of Laminazione Sottile SpA is also vice president of manufacturing development, innovation, research and competitiveness and assigned counselor for administrative affairs in the Industrial Union of Naples, Luca Moschini.
